Here's some command-line code for burning DVDs in Linux that I pieced together from several sources. These instructions assume that you already have created directories audio_ts and video_ts.

Step 1 (optional): create and test a DVD image using mkisofs

mkisofs -o dvd.iso -V "Movie Name" -dvd-video -v /full/path/to/dir/containing/audio_ts/and/video_ts

then

totem dvd:/full/path/to/dvd.iso

or

totem dvd:/full/path/to/directory/containing/audio_ts/and/video_ts

or even

totem dvd:/full/path/to/directory/containing/audio_ts/and/video_ts/VIDEO_TS

Step 2: burn DVD image using growisofs

growisofs -dvd-compat -Z /dev/dvd=/full/path/to/dvd.iso

Alternative Method: burn a DVD directly using growisofs:

growisofs -V “Movie Name” -Z /dev/dvd -dvd-video /full/path/to/dir/containing/audio_ts/and/video_ts

Please let me know if you have any corrections or suggestions for improvement. My only problem with this has been poor audio track syncing. Perhaps I'm burning too fast.
